Ouray Colorado Box Canyon Falls

The narrow Box Canyon Falls in Ouray Colorado are a natural wonder that sends thousands of gallons of water through a narrow chasm of limestone down hundreds of feet putting on a nice show. IN the winter the park becomes a world-class ice climbing spot. I heard that while the ice is very thick in the winter, the climbers still hear the rushing water flowing behind it. I can’t imagine what ice climbing a fall like this would be like, but I would be happy to watch. It is a very easy hike from its own park just outside of Ouray or access it off of the longer perimeter trail which circles the town from its ridges.
